Welcome to the Whangarei Flying Club
Come and learn to fly with us. Whangarei Flying Club Inc. is dedicated to providing our members with a safe, stimulating and exciting environment in which they can pursue their aviation passions, from taking the first steps in learning to fly right through to ongoing flight training. We operate modern, safe microlight aircraft that are meticulously maintained by our own maintenance engineers.

We have a team of experienced instructors who are able to offer introductory trial flights, regular flying lessons and ongoing flight training, biennial flight reviews and aircraft type ratings.
Whangarei Flying Club is a not-for-profit organisation. Our instructors are all volunteers. This helps to make our flying rates arguably the most cost-effective anywhere in New Zealand.
Come along to our clubhouse at Whangarei Airport. Enter via Gate 4 (down the road beyond the main terminal entrance, then along to Hangar 10). There is activity most of the time, and Sundays in particular are club days when we cook a BBQ at 12:30pm. There will be people around to welcome you then and maybe even to take you for a trial flight!
Trial Flights
A trial flight is more affordable than you might think. It gives you a fantastic idea of what it is like to fly an aircraft. It might even inspire you to take flying lessons with us. You can buy a trial flight from as little as $100. This is a great gift for your family or friends, or for that person in your life that thinks that they have everything already!
